History

The Advanced Program is funded and implemented by the Vietnamese government with the aim to pick up knowledge selectively from advanced training programs in the world and enhance educational quality of national universities, heading to establishment of universities of international standards in the future. The Advanced Program of Danang University of Science and Technology aims at training qualified students for national and international labor market, pioneering in training quality in Electronic and Communication Engineering and Embedded System Engineering, facilitating engineers graduating from these two programs with the ability for future career, further study as well as life-time learning.

In 2006, the University of Science and Technology was responsible for implementing the Advanced Program in Electronic and Communication Engineering by the Ministry of Education and Training along with 8 universities in Vietnam. Thanks to good international collaborations in many years of Danang University, the AP has built a strong cooperative relationship with the University of Washington under a huge assistance of Boeing.

The University of Washington, founded in 1861 and located in Seattle, Washington, USA, is ranked No.22 all over the world, also ranked No.22 in Electronic and Communication Engineering among  4,000 universities in US (according to US News). It has close relationships with many famous brands such as : Boeing, Microsoft, HP, IBM, Intel, Ford,…. The first Advanced Program recruitment was in September, 2006 with the number of 45 students.

In 2008, the Danang University of Science and Technology again was responsible for implementing the Advanced program in Embedded System Engineering, cooperating with University of Portland.

Founded in 1946, University of Portland is located in the centre of Portland, Oregon. There are over 28,000 students, including 1,750 international students from 93 countries around the world. University of Portland is a public school which trains undergraduate, master and doctor. The curriculum is implemented through schools:  Art and Science College, Urban and Public Service College, Engineering and Computer Science College, Marketing, Open University, College of Arts, College of Social Work.
